NARPM UT June 2024 Meeting
NARPM Utah June Meeting - Proposed Property Management Licensing Change
Event Details
Join us on Thursday, June 13th at Noon for a special discussion about proposed property management licensing changes for the 2025 Legislative Session.
3 Factors Prompting PM Licensing Change
· The state of Utah is reviewing all Occupational Licenses are PM is one of the first four to be reviewed - a state report found the barriers to entry are too high, regulations is excessive and confusing, and the public is not adequately protected
· Property managers have long felt like a round peg in a square hole as real estate sales regulations are used to regulate PM which is a much different activity
· Public outcry for change is coming from renters groups that real complain estate licensees are inadequately trained and prospective managers that a 120 hour Agent/Broker training course that only has 4 hours of PM training is too high of a barrier to entry
This issue has been put on the legislature's interim study calendar for 2024.
